Soapbox was an event held by the American School of Brasilia with the aim of exchanging ideas and promoting free speech. With a moniker inspired by soapboxes, improvised wooden platforms used by speakers in public places, the challenge was to combine the vintage references of these boxes while making the true meaning of this curious name easier to understand even for the most uninformed viewer.
One of the efforts made to ensure that the concept behind the event's name was understood was to build a literal wooden soapbox with a stenciled logo, which guest speakers climbed onto at the beginning of their talks.
In addition to the logo, specific applications were also developed to promote the event. Below are two main examples of such applications: the promotional poster and the event's t-shirt.
